Kalari Academy of Performing Arts - KAPA

Kalari Academy of Performing Arts (KAPA) is the professional place to learn and practice Kalaripayattu and make it a part of one's daily life. We seek to preserve and endorse the virtues of traditional Kalaripayattu martial arts through our academy of performing arts.
Our mission is to popularize Kalaripayattu and provide easy accessibility to the common man.

Our mission is to nurture and preserve one of India’s oldest and richest art form “The Kalaripayattu
Kalari Academy has succeeded in subtly blending Kalaripayattu with classical and contemporary dance forms. These newly-evolved dance forms are a natural part of Kalari's evolution, from being a pure martial combat used to settle differences in battles to the death, to an art meant for self-expression and keeping fit.
Enhance awareness on India’s rich culture & heritage and especially our proud lineage in the field of martial arts
Motivate artists from other streams to innovate different mechanisms to nourish and popularize their art forms
Promote cooperation and collaboration among the national and global art/creative fraternity.
Ensure global acceptance of Kalaripayattu as a unique and multifaceted martial art.

In a heartfelt bid to dispel the shrouds of mystery surrounding Kalaripayattu and popularize the art form, Kalari Academy has hosted several programs, lecture demonstrations and has produced different documentaries. Kalari Academy has given performances for IPL cricket Launch, Hampi Festival, Drishty Dance festival Bangalore, Dasara Mysore Festival etc. Kalari Academy has represented India in various international festivals too. Our expertise saw us being invited to France for the 'Festival Latitudes Vilette Lude De Sud' by the French Government as a part of a cultural exchange program. We have performed at the inauguration of the Olympic Council of Asia, at Kuwait in the year 2009.

We have also had different opportunities to choreograph, enact in Films and advertisements. Our various accomplishments include in choreography of Kalaripayattu movements at Delhi 6 (Abhishek Batchan) and Magadheera, the newly released movie starring MR. Ram Charan.
